Frequently asked questions

What kind of PDFs work best?
PDFs with selectable text — lecture notes, textbook chapters, articles and study guides. Scanned image-only PDFs without a text layer may not work.
Does it read my entire PDF?
The tool shows which pages were read and lets you review the extracted text. Choose up to 120 pages at a time from PDFs up to 5 MB. If the excerpt exceeds 12,000 characters, choose fewer pages or edit it before generating. Text is never shortened automatically.
Is it free?
Yes. Signed-in free accounts get 3 AI generations per day, subject to free-provider availability. Each use of this tool generates up to 10 flashcards. No credit card is required.
Do I need an account?
Yes. Sign in to use your daily free generations. Your notes stay on this page while you sign in. You can then save the generated deck and study it with spaced repetition.
Which languages are supported?
You can enter notes or a topic in the language you want to study. Review the generated cards for accuracy before saving them.
Is my data private?
Your selected text is sent to a cloud AI provider to generate flashcards. A deck is added to your library only when you choose to save it.
